Gás Mostarda

As mostardas podem ser divididas em dois grandes grupos:
Mostarda Nitrogenada [1]
HN-1: Bis(2-cloroetil)etilamina [2]
HN-2: Bis (2-cloroetil)metilaminas [2]
HN-3: : Tris(2-cloroetil)amina[2]
Gás Mostarda
Sulfeto de Bis (2-cloroetil)

Apesar de todas as mostardas terem propriedades vesicantes, apenas o gás mostarda é usado como arma química [1].

As mostardas nitrogenadas mostraram-se eficazes na remoção de verrugas, que foi o caso da HN1, e como agentes usados em quimioterapia, mais particularmente o HN2. Estes compostos foram desenvolvidos durante a 2º guerra mundial e levaram ao desenvolvimento de diversos quimioterápicos atuais, como a ciclofosfamida, ifosfamida e mecloretamina [1],[3].
